NEW IA-01 POLL:
BOHANNAN LEADS MILLER-MEEKS, 43 TO 39

Iowa City, IA – Today, POLITICO reported on a poll commissioned by House Majority PAC showing Christina Bohannan with a lead over Rep. Miller-Meeks in the contest for Iowa’s 1st Congressional District. Bohannan leads the incumbent 43-39. After beginning the cycle as a Toss Up, and raising $500k within the first 24 hours of launch, this poll is more proof of Bohannan’s enormous early momentum.

According to HMP, the poll discerned the following:

  • Christina Bohannan leads Republican Mariannette Miller-Meeks in a head-to-head matchup: When IA-01 constituents were asked to choose between Democrat Christina Bohannan and Republican Mariannette Miller-Meeks, 43% said they would vote for Christina Bohannan and 39% said they would vote for Republican Mariannette Miller-Meeks. 18% were undecided.
  • Mariannette Miller-Meeks’ favorability rating is underwater: When IA-01 constituents were asked if they have a favorable or unfavorable opinion of Mariannette Miller-Meeks, 46% said they had an unfavorable opinion of her, while 32% said they had a favorable opinion. 22% were undecided.
  • Mariannette Miller-Meeks’ approval rating is underwater: When IA-01 constituents were asked if they approved or disapproved of Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks’ job performance, 45% said they disapproved of her job performance, while 31% said they approved. 24% were undecided

The poll is weighted with the 2024 presidential margins, assuming a Trump +9 electorate. It sampled 555 voters in the district and was conducted June 18-19.

###

Iowa’s 1st Congressional District contains the cities of Davenport, Iowa City, Burlington, and Indianola. Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks faces a rematch against Christina Bohannan, who came within 0.2% of defeating the incumbent in 2024. Bohannan lost by just 799 votes and outperformed the top of the ticket by over 8 points – more than any other Red-to-Blue candidate in the country. National forecasters, including the Cook Political Report, universally rate this district as a Toss-Up for 2026. With Rep.  Miller-Meeks showing historic weakness at just 26% favorability and facing growing opposition even within her own party, Bohannan has the best opportunity to flip a Republican seat in the country.
